Hi everyone! My name’s Kristi, and I’m from Waco, Texas. I’m a sophomore at the University of Texas at Austin. I’m studying Special Education and I absolutely love it! Last semester I worked at an after school program, where I taught first and second graders, but I don’t have the time to work this semester, unfortunately…
In my free time (what little there is of it), I love to read. Any book will do, and I switch favorites all the time. Right now, though, it’s Radical by David Platt (read it- it will change your life!) I love listening to music, especially Christian music- my favorites are David Crowder Band, Chris Tomlin, Krstian Stanfill, and Charlie Hall. Doing nothing with my best friends is a favorite pastime of mine.
As for likes and dislikes… I like tea and hate coffee. I like mints and hate gum. I like spicy food- one of my best friends is Indian, so I get Indian food all the time! I dislike rush hour traffic, which I have to deal with a lot in Austin, but I like getting to dance in my car to Jesus music for an hour or two.
I’ve been to four mission trips, all of them to Mexico. Three of the trips were to a small town called Galeana and the last one was to Mexico City. The last trip is where God first gave me a taste of my passion for special needs children, orphans (James 1:27 is my favorite verse), and missions in general.
Like I said before, I’m just in love with kids with special needs, and orphans and overseas missions/unreached people groups are a passion of mine. So this trip brings all of my passions together, all so that I can bring glory to God. I just went to Passion 2011 Fort Worth, so my spirit’s been renewed and I cannot wait to go on this trip and serve God with all of you! Can’t wait to meet you!
